Sacred Stitches blends creativity\, connection\, and Japanese-inspired traditions into one relaxing\, hands-on experience. \n\nTime & Location\n\n\nSep 26\, 2026\, 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM \nCarnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Squirre\, 5801 Forbes Ave\, Pittsburgh\, PA 15217\, USA \n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the event\n\n\n\nSacred Stitches\nA Creative Kaleidoscope Workshop\nSunday\, September 26 | 2:00–4:30 PM \nSquirrel Hill Library | Large Meeting Room \n \nSlow down\, settle in\, and discover what can happen when creativity becomes a form of mindfulness. \nJoin Teetotal Initiative and Dr. Vincenne Revilla Beltrán for Sacred Stitches\, a unique hands-on textile workshop inspired by the philosophy\, culture\, and history of the Japanese stitching traditions of Sashiko and Boro. \n \nMore than a sewing class\, Sacred Stitches is an invitation to step away from the noise and demands of everyday life and experience the simple\, meditative rhythm of needle\, thread\, and breath. \n \nUsing reclaimed fabric remnants\, simple stitching techniques\, and guided instruction\, you’ll create your own small textile keepsake while exploring how the centuries-old practice of hand-stitching can encourage relaxation\, focus\, creativity\, and self-expression. Along the way\, Vincenne will share the traditions and ideas that inspire the practice and help each participant make the experience their own. \n \nNo sewing experience is necessary. Whether you’ve been stitching for years or have never threaded a needle\, this workshop was designed to be welcoming\, approachable\, and enjoyable for everyone. All fabric\, needles\, thread\, and other materials will be provided.
