SUMMARY:Adventure Recovery Coach Certificate - Berkshires\, April 2026
DESCRIPTION:Adventure Recovery Coach Certificate – Berkshires\, April 2026\n\n\nThe Adventure Recovery Coach Training is officially recognized by the Connecticut Certification Board (CCB) as a comprehensive\, 60-hour\, full core curriculum for the Connecticut Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credential.\nAdventure Recovery Coach Training\nThe Adventure Recovery Coach training provides individuals with the foundational tools and skills to integrate the “nature as healer” approach into the recovery coaching process. Upon completion of the AR coach training\, you will possess the necessary knowledge and skills to safely and effectively lead others on basic outdoor adventures. These include hiking\, orienteering\, and ceremonial activities\, to name a few. AR coaches receive ongoing supervision and education through the Adventure Recovery leadership team. \nDuring this training\, we focus on the foundational skills of navigation\, risk management\, interpersonal relationships\, and the essential values of nature-based healing. This curriculum imparts trainees with a greater sense of self\, assuredness in nature\, and access to the base skills needed to support others on their journey. This training also acts as an assessment\, both personal and professional\, related to one’s continuum along the Adventure Recovery coach\, and if pursued\, Adventure Recovery guide track. \nWho Should Attend\nThis program is designed for people who work with individuals and groups seeking positive change: people in recovery\, wellness pros\, yoga teachers\, life coaches\, therapists\, counselors\, recovery coaches\, educators\, recovery advocates\, etc. Adventure Recovery is the leading provider of outdoor coaching\, guiding\, mentorship and training in the recovery profession. AR coaches and guides are professionally trained in both recovery coaching and exceptional and transformative adventure experiences. The Adventure Recovery model is distinctive in the unique way our expertly trained guides hold both the recovery coaching component and the safety-first\, technical outdoor guide practices for clients. The techniques and skills in outdoor leadership and recovery coaching include: \nAdventure Recovery Coaching: 5Days\, 4 Nights \n\n\nThe Power of Story and Use of Metaphor \n\n\nNature as Teacher and Healer \n\n\nMentorship: The Art of Connection \n\n\nRecovery Coaching: The Adventure Perspective \n\n\nPersonal and Professional Goal Setting \n\n\nOutdoor Leadership 101 \n\n\nNavigation \n\n\nOutdoor Risk Management \n\n\nMental Health FIrst Aid \n\n\nNarcan Administration \n\n\nSample Syllabus\nDay 1 – Adventure Recovery Coaching\, Nature As Teacher \nDay 2 – Navigation\, Weather and Terrain\, Guide Equipment\, Risk Management \nDay 3 – Nature As Healer\, Mental Health First Aid\, Narcan \nDay 4 – Backcountry Navigation\, Solo \nDay 5 – GOAL Setting\, Mentoring Cont. Final Exam; Conclusion \nEvaluation\nUpon completion of the Adventure Recovery Coach Training and following team review\, follow-up\, and assessment\, individuals will be given clear directions for development and growth. Ongoing mentorship and support from senior AR Guides is part of the process. We hold relationships with our trainees every step of the way\, to ensure they are clear on their needs and areas to focus on going forward\, depending on the desired path. \nTrainees who successfully complete the Adventure Recovery coach training will be eligible to work with individual coaching clients through Adventure Recovery\, or as independent coaches\, or within other recovery organizations. This is considered the minimum requirement for working in the field with individuals and assisting with groups. \nTrainees may continue in the AR guide training curriculum and earn free-standing credentials as AR Rock\, River\, Ocean and Mountain Guides. Wilderness Advanced First Aid is the minimum backcountry medicine requirement to become an AR guide. \nCompletion of each module\, practice hours\, and skills assessments\, qualifies trainees to earn the Adventure Recovery guide certificate. This certificate then makes one eligible for per-diem\, technical skills fieldwork with individual AR clients and groups. Completion of individual modules and final certificate does not guarantee employment. \nWhat to Expect\nFollowing registration\, we will send you a complete packing list and syllabus for the Adventure Recovery coach training. \nPlease note that we will spend most of the experience outdoors\, covering long distances in rough terrain and enduring prolonged exposure to the elements. The gear list we send will be considered essential items for outdoor leaders. \nLong days and nights are to be expected. \nCold\, rain\, snow\, cold water immersion\, steep terrain\, exposed cliffs\, and darkness are all expected (and welcomed). \nChallenging group dynamics and personal boundaries will be tested. You will be supported by the group and by the Adventure Recovery Training and Leadership Team through any exceptionally challenging moments. \nWe can’t wait to see you outside! \nScholarship/payment plans are a possibility.
